Walking down the street one day this fall, I passed a little girl wearing a fleece hat that I re-interpreted in knitting. And made a version in green for the non-pink lover.
This is an easy and adorable hat to knit with minimal finishing: the chin strap and buttontab are knitted first, then joined to the hat which is knitted in the round. There is no shaping so this knits up very quickly. The decorative tabs are sewn on after the top seam is sewn.
The finished measurements for this hat are 14, 17 1/2 or 19".
The yarn called for is worsted weight that will work up at 4 sts/1".
The hats shown are worked in Peaches & Creme 100% unmercerized cotton in combinations of Shocking Pink with Peacock, Red and Purple tabs, and Emerald Green with Yellow, Burnt Orange or Peacock tabs. Both hats are finished with a yellow button. These are just a starting point for color combinations!
This is a good weekend project.
