Since babies grow so quickly, versatility helps get the most mileage from their clothes: this boat necked jumper doubles as a sundress.
It's a comfortable fit over a tee-shirt or onsie, and is cool and comfortable on warm days when worn as a dress. The ribbed panel on the aline skirt merges into the bodice as cables. The back of the bodice is worked in reverse stockinette stitch and fastens with a single button. Finishing is at a minimum: the tab for the buttonhole is picked up and knitted at the back neck, and there are only the side skirt seams to sew.
The yarn is Peaches & Creme 100% unmercerized cotton in worsted weight. This yarn is soft, has a nice hand, and works up quickly at 4 sts/1" in stockinette stitch on size 7 needles (needles not included).
The kit contains enough yarn to make the largest size plus a button and complete instructions. The color choices are Butterscotch, Rose Pink, or Off-White. If there is another color you'd like, just email me.
The kit is for sizes 6, 12, or 18 months (finished chest size: 15 [16, 18]"; length from shoulder: 12.5 [15.5, 18]").
