We can always use a little simplicity in our lives, and the Telemark Pullover gives us some: a basic, neck-down pullover with a garter stitch collar, placket and trim. It’s an easy knit but not ho-hum.

Gauge 20 sts and 28 rounds = 4” in St st.
Notes & Techniques M1 (Make 1): With left needle tip, lift strand between needles. Knit lifted loop. skp: slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit next stitch, pass slipped stitch over knitted stitch. On circular needles, garter stitch is worked as purl one round, knit one round.
Sweater With 16” circular needle, cast on 51 (52, 55) sts. Working back and forth, work 16 rows garter st. Set-up row: K8 (8. 8) , place marker (pm), k10 (10, 11), pm, k15 (16,17), pm, k10 (10, 11), pm, k8 (8, 8). Row 1: K4 sts, p to last 4 sts, k4, slipping markers. Row 2: *K to 1 st before marker, M1, k1, slip marker (sm), k1, M1. Repeat from * to end of row. Repeat rows 1 & 2 12 more times. Join to work in the round, placing marker at left underam for beg of round. Keeping center 8 sts in garter st, continue to increase every other round as established 3 (4, 5) more times. Work one round even, knitting all stitches. Dividing round: *K to sleeve marker, remove marker, slip 42 (44, 47) sleeve sts to holder or waste yarn, remove marker. Repeat from * to end of round (center front). Work even on 95 (100, 105) sts until length is 10 (10 1/2, 12)” from center back (do not include collar in this measurement). Work 8 rounds in garter st. BO all sts.
Sleeves With RS facing and starting at underarm, knit 42 (44, 47) sts from holder and distribute sts over 3 needles as follows: 14-14-14 (15-14-15)(16-15-16). Rounds 1-3: Knit. Round 4: K1, k2tog, k to last 3 sts, skp, k1. Repeat these 4 rounds 4 more times: 32 (34, 37) sts. Work even, if necessary, until length is 10 1/2 (11 1/2, 13)” from center back. Work 8 rounds in garter st. BO all sts.
Finishing Weave in all loose ends. Sew gap at underarm. Block lightly.
