Once I made blocks, the next step was to make balls. After you learn to stack, you've got to learn to throw!
These soft, squeezable balls are the right size for little hands to play with.
Each ball is worked in garter stitch in two colors, in one piece; all the shaping is done using the short-row technique. Row by row instructions are given and are easy to follow, even if you've never worked short rows before. You can vary the color sequence to make each ball unique.
The yarn is Peaches n Creme 100% unmercerized cotton in worsted weight that works up quickly at 4sts=1" in stockinette stitch on size 7 needles (needles not included).
The finished balls are approximately 5" in diameter.
The colors are yellow, orange, lime, pink, purple and peacock. These colors match the colors in the Baby Blocks Kit, item #TO1.
The kit includes yarn to make three balls, polyester fiberfill for stuffing, and complete instructions.
