My favorite! I've knitted dozens of these as baby gifts for friends as well as for charities. There is something comforting about the simplicity of the pattern and the old-fashioned look to it.
This simple, classic blanket couldn't be easier to knit: all garter stitch. Knit on the diagonal, it's like an old-fashioned wash-cloth, only bigger.
The kit is for a blanket, finished size approximately 34"x34".
The yarn is Peaches n Creme 100% unmercerized cotton in worsted weight. The color is a soft light blue.This can also be kitted in rose pink, off-white, or sage green. This yarn is soft, has a nice hand, and works up quickly at 4 sts=1" in garter stitch on size 10 needles (needles not included). The larger needle size makes a very soft, plushy fabric that justs gets better with age.
The kit contains enough yarn to make one blanket, plus complete instructions. Needles are not included; I reccomend using a size 10 29" circular needle.
